Producing Artist's Remuneration and Benefits
The Producing Artist's role in the three-week Documenting Engagement Institute
is to participate in discussions, to develop skills in digital documentary video
production, and to produce a short video. Artists will dedicate three weeks to
this endeavour and will share copyright of the completed video with the Institute.
In recognition of the artists' work and the shared nature of the benefits resulting
from that work, some provision has been made to compensate the artists involved.
Producing Artists will receive:
- Artist Fee - $1,000;
- Full set of videos and written documents produced during the Institute;
- Hands-on training in the production of documentary video;
- Lunches and some snacks will be provided;
- Further but non specific benefits will accrue from the Institute's
dissemination of the videos.
In addition, if the artist is from outside of the lower mainland of BC:
- Either $500 towards accommodation or billet arranged with someone in the Vancouver arts community (in which case the $500 will be paid to the person providing the billet);
- $400 total for other living expenses, e.g. food etc. in place of a specific daily per diem;
- Fare to and from Vancouver at an economy rate.
